Francli

We are really pleased to have local craftwear brand Francli displaying their work and giving a talk about their design, products and practices.

Francli strive to be as sustainable and self-sufficient as possible and are constantly searching for new and innovative ways to save energy and prevent waste, because of this up-cycling has become an important part of their practice; often using the waste materials of other companies to make a range of their own unique products.

Francli have been featured on the Channel 4 'The Makers' programme, which you could watch here: http://www.channel4.com/programm…/makers/on-demand/60391-002

This is one of many great and inspirational exhibitors and speakers we will have at the event.

Andy Hughes

We are happy to announce Andy Hughes Photography will be joining us at Waste to Wonderful.

Andy Hughes is an artist photographer who was one of a small group of artists and scientists who recently travelled to Alaska to take part in the Gyre Expedition. Their goal was to create art from the trash they found to raise awareness about its impact on oceans and wildlife.

Andy will be showing a film made by National Geographic from the expedition and talking about his experience with the project, in addition to his work with the Surfers Against Sewage and heading up a Q&A session.

Dan Rawlings

Next up we have dan rawlings; Dan is an artist fascinated with the natural environment and obsessed with old tools, scrap metal, rust and corrosion.

Dan has exhibited work across the Country, and has exhibited with the Curious Duke Gallery and The Affordable Art Fair, UK. The AAF comissioned Dan to create a sculpture which was constructed from a 18ft disused grain silo!

Dan creates images that remind people of the moments when everything seems possible and free; times when c...limbing a tree, or sitting admiring the way its branches twist and curl means nothing, but means everything.

We are very excited that Dan will be bringing his work down to Waste to Wonderful at A Curious Hall.
